Description: The Enterprise Application Management (EAM) Department has developed and maintains a communications network to link independent consumer goods distributors, suppliers and \client subsidiaries to the enterprise-wide network. It is designed around Internet principles and utilizes an extranet computing environment. The client continues to look at significantly enhancing the breadth and depth of data moved across the infrastructure from its customer base (wholesalers, suppliers, vendors and subsidiaries) through Web development initiatives. The successful candidate will be involved in working with many internal and external development groups, and independent software companies.
The candidate that is selected will: -Be assigned on a full-time basis -Be available for off-hours support. -Be available for overtime (when necessary). - Ability to work with minimal direction, taking high level system requirements and translating those requirements into specific solutions. -Interpersonal skills for interaction with development, support staff, project team and customer/wholesaler areas of the company. -Team player – must be able to interact with project team members. -Good writing skills for technical and non-technical documents. -Understanding of business systems (accounting, distribution, operations, sales). - Where required, flex-hours for customer availability; 40 hour work-week. - Understanding of hardware/software configuration management and software delivery principles. -Strong problem solving and analytical skills. -Strong organizational skills evidenced by ability to set priorities, coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and be attentive to details. - Computer Science or related college degree preferred.
Required Skills: Excellent n-Tier architecture web development skills using Microsoft technologies with demonstrated ability and experience in the following areas: -Object oriented (OO) analysis, design, and development -Use of a formal OO methodology, such as the Rational Unified Process (RUP) -MS Visual Studio .NET -Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0, 1.1 -Scripting: VBScript, JScript, JavaScript, ADSI, WMI -ASP.NET, ASP to ASP.NET conversion -MS C++, VB.NET, C# -HTML, DHTML, XML/XSLT -LDAP or Active Directory programming experience -Use of Windows NT/2000 and Microsoft’s Enterprise Server Suite, e.g. Commerce Server, Application Center, Active Directory, etc., as a development and deployment platform -Awareness of basic IT principles: requirements analysis, scope management, software configuration management, system design techniques (process & data modeling), application of proper development tools, testing (unit, integration, system, acceptance test), promotion/transition to production environment.
Desired Skills: Exposure to any one or more of the following technical environments considered a plus. -Middleware/MQSeries and other standard business application interfacing tools, FTP/HTTP protocols.
