The medical center is a regional hub for healthcare within a medical community offering more than 40 different medical specialties ranging from urology to pediatrics complemented by three centers of excellence in cancer, heart, or neurosurgery.
The medical center recently completed an extensive remodel and new addition which included a new emergency department and trauma center, new surgical suites, and new intensive care and telemetry units with private rooms. The remainder of the medical center was updated to include new waiting areas and to increase other efficiencies and comfort for all patient and family services.
Also on the regional medical center's campus are a new outpatient surgical center and a new medical office building which houses a new diagnostics and imaging center. These services and facilities were designed to meet patient-specific needs such as private women's areas for mammography.
Specialty care is supported with the latest in diagnostics, including 3 magnetic resonance imaging units (MRIs), and multiple CT scanners. Interventional radiologists and an interventional neuro-radiologist provide pain relieving treatments and assist in the reducing stroke symptoms through intra-arterial cerebral thrombolysis, in addition to offering the highest level of diagnostic capability.
The medical center is licensed for more than 200 beds, is designated as a regional trauma center and operates a small transitional care unit. The medical staff's specialists are more than 90% board certified and there is virtually no managed care in this market.
