Walgreens Mail Services has an opportunity available for a Pharmacist at our Orlando facility. The Orlando location is one of three state-of-the-art Walgreens mail service pharmacy facilities. Mail Service is a production environment. The facility is conveniently located in southwest Orlando. The position available is second shift 3:30 pm to 12:00 am, Monday through Friday. The facility is closed Sundays and major holidays.
Minimum Requirements:
Strong interpersonal, communication and telephone skills required.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Must be a self-starter able to facilitate as well as motivate other team members.
A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
Extensive clinical background/experiences.
Flexible schedule.
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
Pharm.D. preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
Will lead, train, develop, and motivate support personnel.
Conduct the review of all candidate prescriptions for drug interactions and other potential clinical alerts in accordance with legal, professional, and corporate protocols.
Work with team to ensure daily and long-term goals are met.
Will assist all PCC coordinators in their function and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Organize and prepare work to be ready for next day.
Will review all PCC coordinator activities regarding all interactions and clinical alerts as is within their professional realm.
Conduct compliance programs.
The PCC Pharmacist will be wholly responsible for all questions, dialogues, or issues that are directly related to the patients therapies as is consistent with good pharmacy practice protocols.
Will monitor and intervene as needed when working with the PCC coordinator to complete the intervention call (Note: At no time will they delegate the professional communications that takes place between the Prescriber or their designee as is consistent with pharmacy law and practice)
Assist in programs geared to achieve optimum outcome for external and internal customers.
Will be responsible for the taking and verification of all new interventions as is consistent with good pharmacy practice.
Ensure the WHP and Walgreens Co. business objectives of quality, turnaround time, customer service and cost are met or exceeded.
Will maintain a good working knowledge of all clinical protocols and computer systems to facilitate in the review of all patient information.
Perform other duties as required.
