The Hospital
The Hospital is a 50+ bed acute-care facility; the only hospital in the county, it has a primary service area of approximately 28,000 county residents and a secondary market from surrounding counties accounting for an additional 15,000. Medical staff specialties include anesthesiology, cardiology, obstetrics/gynecology, internal medicine, radiology, urology, podiatry, neurology, family practice, general dentistry and a surgery department offering general, orthopedic and neurosurgery.
The Community
With a population of approximately 28,000, there is a multitude of social activities. Professional and college sports are a short drive away in nearby family friendly communities. Three public school corporations serve the area. Continuing education programs are also offered to students and adults. Private elementary and secondary schools are available, including home-based and alternate programs, church schools, and a college-prep high school for students in the 9-l2th grades. Postsecondary education and training offered by several local colleges and major universities are within a few hours' drive.
Recreation
