The Medical Center is a 50-bed, acute care hospital located in beautiful Northeast Arkansas. The staff of five primary care practitioners and one internal medicine physician serves the area's primary care needs. The staff also includes a general/vascular surgeon and a cardiologist. The physicians are supported by the hospital's many services including pharmacy, radiology, laboratory, CT scanning, ultrasound, mammography, nuclear medicine, physical/speech/respiratory therapies, EEG and EKG. RCMC also offers several specialty services. Senior Care, a 14-bed geriatric psychiatric unit, uses a multi-disciplinary staff to treat the unique emotional and physical problems of our older population. Recently opened is Transitions, a partial hospitalization program, an extension of the Senior Care program designed to relieve emotional and personal distress in seniors in an outpatient setting. The Medical Center Home Health Agency provides skilled nursing aides, physical therapy and speech therapy in the comfort of a patient's home. A Sleep Lab is available to identify sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, insomnia, and narcolepsy. RCMC's outpatient surgery offers the convenience of day surgery in the security of a full-service hospital. An array of surgical procedures is available with many being done laparoscopically. Laparoscopic surgeries include gall bladder, chronic heartburn and urinary stress incontinence. A new IV/Chemotherapy Center was opened in 1999 providing any type of oncology/chemotherapy/cancer drug administration including associated drug products to prevent nausea, IV rehydration, outpatient antibiotic therapy and administration of blood products. Facility opened its new Outpatient Rehabilitation Center in 2000 providing physical, occupational and speech therapies. An Aquaciser, only one of five in the state, was purchased to enhance the rehabilitation of patients.
